ShopNET is an industry-wide integrated information technology(IT) solution specially designed for small and medium size enterprise retailers(SME). Its initial focus will be the grocery trade. Members of theShopNET Steering Committee are the National Computer Board(NCB), Retail Promotion Centre(RPC), and Singapore Article Number Council(SANC). ShopNET enables small retailers to conduct Point-of-Sale(POS) scanning, inventory control and EDI for procurement using EANCOM messages. IT also has an accounting package that enables retailers to calculate their finacial bottom lines at the end of each month.
The ShopNET Steering Committee has registered The ShopNET Trademark and assigned it to SANC for ShopNET trademark administration and maintenance to promote wider application of the ShopNET system, in line with technical specifications and standards drawn up by the ShopNET Steering Committee.
