ShopNET features front-end, Point-of-Sale scanning, linked to a back end computer system for inventory and sales data analysis. ShopNET also includes Electronic Data Interchange of trading documents (Purchase Orders, Invoices etc.) for on-line ordering with grocery manufacturers and suppliers, a centralised National Electronic Product Catalogue of grocery items, and other Value-added Internet Services like on-line ShopNET Forums and Virtual Mall functions. Suppliers will have an EC software system installed to manage all their external communications with their trading partners.
